Search queries
A name and state entered into the public search tool are sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Boone County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own end through the page markup.
Messages and requests
If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the message and reply details may be retained so the request can be answered or a record of the exchange can be kept. They are not shared outside the operating organization except as needed to respond, protect rights, or comply with a valid legal demand.
Technical Data and Cookies
Normal page delivery may generate technical information such as:
- IP address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent
- Referring page, when supplied
- Request timestamps
Cookies and similar tools
Cookies or similar storage may help measure page use, remember a preference, or support a partner tool. Browser settings can block or delete cookies. If they are blocked, some features may work differently.
How Information Is Used

Information is not used to create an official Boone County custody record. The sheriff, jail, police department, court, IDOC, BOP, and ICE retain control of their own records and systems.
Links to Other Services
Pages may link to the Boone County Sheriff, Adult Detention Facility, county FOIA, city police offices, the Boone Circuit Clerk, Illinois Courts, IDOC, BOP, ICE, local news, and third-party research tools. Once a visitor follows an outbound link, the destination's privacy policy and data practices govern the visit.
Advertising and search partners may collect information on their own systems, including activity across more than one service. Boone County Busted Mugshots does not control their collection, retention, or security choices.

Personal data is not sold by the operator as a standalone list. Information may be available to the following parties when their service is used or disclosure is required:
- Search partners handling a submitted query
- Analytics providers measuring page activity
- Advertising networks supporting displayed ads
- Service providers maintaining hosting or security
- Law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Security Practices
Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect information within the operator's control. No internet-connected system is fully secure, so this notice does not promise that a breach, interception, or unauthorized access can never occur.
Visitors Under 18
The pages are intended for adults and are not designed to knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent personal information, a parent or guardian may ask for the material to be reviewed and deleted where possible.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and reasonable verification, a visitor may ask about personal data held by the operator, request correction of an error, request deletion, or object to certain processing. Browser controls can also limit cookies. Requests should identify the information at issue without sending unnecessary identity documents.
Search requests sent to an outside provider must be addressed with that provider. A request about a Boone County arrest record, booking photograph, court docket, or custody status must go to the originating agency, because this private reference resource does not hold those records.
Changes to This Notice
This Privacy Notice may be revised when the services, data practices, or legal requirements change. The current wording will be posted on this page, and a new effective date may be shown with an update. Continued use after a change means the revised notice applies to later visits.
